Derby Party at Retirement Community in Mesa, AZ Brings “Casino” Atmosphere to Residents and Staff!

MESA, AZ – The Monday prior to Kentucky Derby Saturday found Photo Finish Racing Owner and President, Mike “Smoke” Smolka, donning rider colors and hosting a series of races at Discovery Point in Northeast Mesa. “We’re delighted to come down and be part of such terrific company.”, explains Smolka. “Audrey Shea and the entire Activities Staff here have been very welcoming! We particularly enjoy being a regularly scheduled event these days! Photo Finish Racing is truly a game for all ages!” Special race cards were drawn up for Monday’s event and following each race player’s journeyed over to the price table where they’d collect from the WIN, PLACE or SHOW medley of offerings. Booklets of these “race cards” may be available soon through the PFR website (here). “Naming the horses for each race adds a reality element, for sure…”, explains Smolka, “particularly if you happen to be the one barking out the call down the stretch!”
